Netravati Trek Package from Bangalore
A 2-day, 1-night guided trek to Netravati Peak in the Kudremukh forest range — shola forests, open grasslands, and a 360° summit view, with transport, stay, meals, guide, and forest permit all covered in one price.
Netravati Trek
Netravati Trek is one of the most popular trekking destinations in South India. In recent years, it has gained significant attention as an excellent alternative to the Kudremukh Trek .
Located in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka, the Netravati Trek lies between Samse and Belthangady. Similar to Kudremukh, Netravati is also a mountain peak, although it is less explored. The trek derives its name from the Netravathi River, which begins at the foothills of the mountain. This trek is known for offering breathtaking views from start to finish. Vast stretches of rolling shola grasslands surround the trail, creating a scenic landscape throughout the journey. From the summit, trekkers can enjoy a panoramic view of the nearby towns around Belthangady. The Netravati Trek is suitable even for physically fit beginners. While it is beginner-friendly, it still challenges your stamina and endurance, making it an enjoyable experience for both new and experienced trekkers. Like you, we are passionate about trekking, which is why we've documented this trek in detail to help you complete it on your own.Good to know: A Karnataka Forest Department permit is mandatory for this trek and cannot be issued on the spot. It's included in this package — you only need to carry a valid photo ID.
A quieter alternative to the popular Western Ghats trails
Netravati doesn't get the crowds that Kumara Parvatha or Tadiandamol see on a regular weekend. The trail is shorter and more manageable than nearby Kudremukh Peak, while still delivering the same dense forest, open grassland, and summit-view payoff that draws people to this part of the Ghats.
Best Time To Do Netravati Trek
Conditions on this trail change a lot by season — here's an honest breakdown so you can pick the right window for what you want out of the trek.
Clear skies, cool temperatures (8°C–18°C), and the best summit visibility of the year. The safest window for first-time trekkers.
Monsoon brings out the deepest greens and rolling mist that draws dedicated monsoon trekkers. Trails get slippery and leeches are active — good grip shoes and a guide are essential.
Hot, dry, and dusty, with the grasslands at their least scenic. Water sources along the trail also run low.
Netravati Trek Route Breakdown
The summit is roughly 6.5–7 km one way (12–14 km round trip on the same path back down).
A gentle warm-up walk through bamboo and mixed forest near the base.
A steady climb under dense canopy — the quietest, coolest stretch of the trail.
The forest breaks into rolling grassland with the first wide views of the surrounding valleys.
The steepest, rockiest section, with a couple of false summits along the way — this is where the trek earns its "moderate" rating.
A 360° view across the Western Ghats. On a clear winter morning, you can often see a sea of clouds settled in the valleys below.

Departure night doesn't count as one of the two days — you spend exactly one night at the base camp, after the trek.
